The Minneapolis State Theatre is a theatre with history. The restored proscenium spans almost the full width of the building and curves 100 feet above the stage. The six chandeliers in the house are original, as are the murals on the walls. Since the re-opening in 1991, the State has hosted live Broadway touring productions such as Avenue Q, Sweeney Todd and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, concerts featuring Patti Smith and Gordon Lightfoot, author and adventure speaker series and films including the world premiere of the Minnesota-based movie, "Grumpy Old Men". The audio rig consisting of Turbosound Flashlight and Floodlight got a new frontend EQ with a XTA DP446 which is used as a matrix to have separate control over Balcony Left & Right, Floor Left & Right, Nearfills and Subs. A "flat" preset is stored as "START HERE" in the device to give guest engineers an ideal starting point for their individual tune of the system. DP4Remote is used by the local staff as well as by touring engineers to have easy and intuitive control over the system - especially for the fine-adjustments on the sound and level in the different areas. Head of audio Jay Perlman is a DP4Remote user from the very beginning and will be also in the beta-testing crew for the iPad-version soon. He also uses Audiofile Engineerings Spectre as a high end analyser. Check it out! Please give us a short message where you use our products. Back |
